Another Week Behind Us! 🚧🚋

Over the past week, we continued construction works on Bohomolca and Jancarza Streets.

On the section from the traction substation on Marchołta Street to Kurzei Street, we have completed the binder course across the full width of the roadway, leaving only the final wearing course to be laid. We do not anticipate any traffic disruptions on this section in the near future.

On the section of Jancarza Street where a temporary single-lane traffic arrangement for buses remains in place, we completed earthworks, built the road base layers, and laid the binder course on the northern side of the carriageway. From today, a new traffic arrangement is in effect: buses are now running on the newly completed side, and we have begun demolition works on the southern side.

Today, we are laying the wearing course on Młyńska Street. Tomorrow, a new traffic arrangement will be introduced, allowing traffic to use both carriageways of Młyńska Street. Significant progress is also visible at Młyńskie Roundabout. Following the reopening of the outer traffic lanes, we completed the reconnection of the final section of the sanitary sewer system, and the roundabout’s central island is taking on its final shape. Polsad Roundabout has also received a new road surface—approximately 90% of the binder course has already been completed, and work is currently focused on the approaches to the roundabout.

This week also saw continued work on the installation of sedum vegetation, including along Dobrego Pasterza Street and Krzesławicka Street. These are among the final deliveries of sedum plants to the construction site. Within the next two weeks, the sedum cover will extend along the entire length of the green tram tracks.

Elements of the final traffic organization are becoming increasingly visible as well. Approximately 60% of the project area has already been equipped with traffic posts and, progressively, permanent traffic signs. In the tunnel, we are completing the installation of the support structures for the overhead traction system, while on Meissnera Street the traction network is already fully installed. The remaining task is to connect it to Jana Pawła II Avenue, which is planned for the summer period following coordination of the schedule with the road authority.

Substantial progress is also evident inside the tunnel, where approximately 95% of the perforated metal wall cladding has already been completed. Week by week, the project is increasingly taking on its final form, and each completed stage brings us closer to launching the new tram connection. 🚋
